Social Media Influencers: Fossil Fuel Ads are Over

As world leaders meet in Azerbaijan for UN climate talks, we believe it is important to send a message about the impact of fossil fuel misinformation on people and the planet. 2024 is the hottest year in human history, and fossil fuel polluters are investing hundreds of millions of dollars in advertising and PR campaigns to stop climate action.

Online creators and educators have a vital role to play in educating the public about climate change and our responsibility to the planet. It’s vital that we stand together to say that we will not work with the companies who are misinforming, and polluting the planet.

Please add your name to our call to action below before November 11, and help us make a powerful collective statement to world leaders as they gather to discuss the future of our planet:

We, the below social media content creators, influencers and content creators, answer the UN Secretary-General’s urgent call to end fossil fuel advertising.

We recognize the responsibility that comes with our platforms and stand with our peers from around the world by refusing to promote fossil fuel companies on our social media platforms.

We call on world leaders, media owners, advertising agencies, and storytellers, who can influence the future, to listen to this message and act without delay.

Cutting ties with fossil fuel polluters is a climate solution. Science clearly shows that fossil fuels are driving climate change and extreme weather. Our choice to step away from these industries isn’t just about avoiding harm—it's about promoting a more sustainable, equitable future.

We invite all creators and influencers who care about our planet’s future to join us in this call to foster a healthier, fossil-free world for us and for generations to come.
